THE CHALLENGE
Marymount educators created the ‘Innovation Lab,’ a learning space designed to impart 21st Century skills, such as using technology effectively. “We wanted a room that could be used for a multitude of activities and that could be changed from one class to the next quickly and easily,” said Jannine Tuttle, middle school science teacher at Marymount of Santa Barbara.
THE SOLUTION
With mobility in mind, Marymount selected an EXPLORE® Mobile Interactive Whiteboard and EXPLORE® Presentation Shuttle with Side Table. The whiteboard features a top-mounted ultra short-throw projector, which is connected to the instructor’s laptop. The presentation shuttle provides an ideal platform to house classroom electronics and for interactive discussions. Both products are on lockable casters, for easy positioning in the classroom.
A Pulse™ 24M cart was chosen to store and charge Chromebooks and Ultrabooks. The cart’s sophisticated charging system constantly reevaluates the demand for power and concentrates on the devices that need to be charged the most. This technique extends computer battery life and ensures students have charged devices during class time.
